After returning from a power-packed week at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, with two of Joy of Motion Dance Center’s incredible youth dance companies, Soles of Steel and Groove Elements, we are all exhausted! It was an amazing experience for everyone, to say the least, and it is something we will all remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.
The kids performed their hearts out at the center of Downtown Disney’s Waterfront Stage on Friday evening in their very own full-length showcase. It was packed! Not only were all of the seats filled, but every passerby fought their way through crowds of people just to catch a glimpse of our kids rockin’ the stage with their outstanding and energetic performance! In true Disney fashion, it was definitely a “magical” experience.
The companies blended harmoniously together to create an awesome display that took you on an upbeat journey through time. We were proclaimed honorary members of the Disney cast, got to see areas that only Disney employees can view, and even received our very own “Mousecar” (Disney’s version of an oscar, how cute!!) for an outstanding performance as part of Disney’s “Arts OnStage” program. From fun-and-sun-filled days at the Disney parks, to electric parades and fireworks, 17-hour train rides, ice cream sundae parties, and even getting to see the big guy himself (Mickey Mouse of course!), it was an unforgettable voyage that will keep us all smiling for weeks to come. We were proud to represent JOMDC at Disney World for the first time and I feel honored to have been part of such a huge milestone for this company.
