Dear JOMDC Community,

We want to share with you some of the adjustments that we’ve had to make to our in-studio operations following the COVID-19 pandemic. This is out of an abundance of caution for our staff, faculty, guests, and our community and to ensure a safe and productive visit for all. We have made many internal changes to our studio procedures but we wanted to share the ones that will directly impact you and your visit.

1.) Please come alone to your dance class. We will not accommodate extra family members, children, or friends in our lobby area after registration is complete (even furry friends, other than service animals with provided legal documentation). If they come with you, they will need to wait outside our space. No handshakes or hugs for us at this time either please. For our Kidmotion classes (3-7 year olds), one parent/guardian will be permitted and required to be in the studio with the child at all times.

2.) All guests will be required to wear a mask that hooks behind the ears (all staff/faculty members will be required to wear masks as well). If you do not have a mask or if the mask breaks, we will provide you with a disposable mask for the duration of your visit, free of charge.

3.) When you arrive at our studio, please wait at the front desk for a staff/volunteer member to check you in. When you come in, we ask that you use hand sanitizer or wash your hands in the restroom after check-in. We will also ask that you fill out a COVID-19  screening form before entering the lobby. Guests are required to fill our COVID-19 consent form regularly upon each arrival to the studio. We will NOT accept a past consent form. Guests under 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when checking in.

4.) Guests in the lobby and throughout the studio will be required to maintain a safe social distance of 6 feet apart from each other guest.

5.) We will not be offering water cups to guests at this time, please bring your own water with you. We will not be offering dressing rooms at this time. You will be able to keep/bring all personal items close to you in the studio during your dance class, please keep items 6ft apart from other guests’ belongings. Please keep in mind that JOMDC will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. Please keep bathroom usage to a minimum.

6.) For payments and class registration, we will NOT be accepting cash registrations. All class registrations (including drop-in classes) must be pre-registered online, by phone, or via the MINDBODY app, preferably at least 12 hours in advance of the class. For walk-in guests, a space must be available at the time of registration as waiting in the lobby is not permitted without registration.

7.) Studio operation hours and class hours will be modified to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting. We ask our guests to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to their class time. This will allow staff to clean all of our spaces throughout the day after classes or any usage.

Please know how very important providing excellent service and excellent dance education to each of our guests is to us. These new measures we are taking are to ensure that we are able to provide the safe and high-quality studio experience for each of our guests that you have come to expect from us. We hope that we will be able to expand our services for you sooner rather than later, and these measures will help make that happen!

We sincerely appreciate your support and patronage. This situation has certainly brought on some challenges, but we are determined to rise to the occasion with a positive attitude and a high level of professionalism. As these circumstances are ever-changing, they will require our constant attention and re-evaluation. We ask that you please be patient with us as we make the necessary adjustments so that we can best serve you, our loyal dance community.

Respectfully,

Joy of Motion Dance Center Staff
