Just because it’s summertime doesn’t mean you can slack off! We are here to remind you that if you don’t use it you. will. lose. it. JOMDC is thrilled to announce the Summer Dance Camps for ADULTS series!

SO WHY SHOULD YOU, A GROWN PERSON, GO TO CAMP THIS SUMMER? WE’VE GOT YOUR TOP THREE REASONS RIGHT HERE:

1. YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR TECHNIQUE, MIND, AND SOUL TO ANOTHER LEVEL.

KC1_8636Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, out of Chicago, comes to D.C. for a week-long intensive that will do all that in a week. Brand new works, based on individual skill levels, will be presented in a culminating performance on Sunday, August 16 at 8:00 PM at The Jack Guidone Theater. This is the 45 Degrees Project: a totally unique experience for seasoned artists (40+) AND emerging artists (16+, with a solid technical foundation and commitment to the advancement and development of personal, professional, and artistic excellence). You will feel like a professional dancer for one week—and hopefully the rest of the summer. See photos from rehearsals last year here.

BobBoross

Experience what it’s like to work on a broadway show that casts, rehearses, and opens in the space of one week! Students dance, learn new choreography, and sweat, all in preparation for a full weekend of performances Saturday, August 22, at 8 PM, and Sunday, August 21, at 7 PM, both at The Jack Guidone Theater. Two new works will be introduced to the dancers by Bob Boross, inspired by the work of such notable choreographers as Michael Bennett, Bob Fosse, and Jerome Robbins, to name a few. Each day of the intensive will start with a full jazz technique class followed by a morning session of choreography and rehearsal, a lunch break, and an afternoon session of choreography and rehearsal. EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: 15% off until May 8. Read more and register.

3. YOLO

You only live once, baby. Cross this one off your bucket list. We do this every year, and we know how to make it work! Put a week (or two!) of your summer in our hands and you’ll never regret it.
