Joy of Motion Dance Center’s resident adult hip hop company DCypher Dance presents DCypher DCoded at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Adult tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. According to DCypher Dance director Malaika Scott, DCypher DCoded touches upon the inner workings of the company. “Our last show Access Granted gave the audience a glimpse of the many talents within DCypher and our collaborations with other local dance companies. With this show, we’re going even deeper and giving a glimpse of a year in the life of DCypher Dance. This time around we have incorporated video and audio vignettes.”

When asked why they chose the title DCypher DCoded, Scott explained that there are many underlying messages that the audience can pick up on during the show. “When you decode something you extract meaning from it, and each audience member will leave the show with a different viewpoint on the meaning of the overall production. We invite them to decode for themselves what it is we are.”
