First and foremost, I want my classes to be enjoyable. I love encouraging students to push themselves and to continuously strive for improvement and progress, and I try to accomplish this in a positive, cheerful, and even humorous way.

Susan teaches students who are new to dance through students who are intermediate/advanced. Susan’s Joy of Motion classes are Community Level.
STYLES TAUGHT:
At Joy of Motion, Susan teaches classical Ballet technique. Outside of Joy of Motion, Susan teaches Yoga & Floor-Barre.

I teach ballet because I love the technique, the exquisite lines, fluidity of the body, and the strength and control to make it all look effortless.
Susan’s Bio:
Susan Gresko began studying ballet at age 12 with Janis Ray in Annandale, Virginia. She continued her training on scholarship at the National Academy of Arts in Champaign, IL with Petrus Bosman and Robert DiCello, at Jacob’s Pillow with Benjamin Harkarvy, and at the Pennsylvania School of Ballet with Lupé Serrano and Cherie Noble. She graduated with Highest Distinction honors from George Mason University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance and performed with the George Mason University Dance Company. She is a yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition and received her certification from the American Viniyoga Institute. She is also certified in the Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique. Gresko has taught youth and adult ballet, yoga, and Floor-Barre throughout the DMV area. In 2004, she joined the D.A.R.E. Dance program to teach movement and choreography to elementary school children. Susan started teaching at Joy of Motion in 2004.
