Creating Communities That Dance

Project Motion is JOMDC’s community outreach program that shares our award-winning dance education experience free of charge to individuals of limited means throughout the greater metropolitan area. Each year JOMDC reaches beyond its studio doors and offers free dance classes, performances, and educational opportunities to create a community rich in positive growth and change.

Project Motion Community Outreach extends the reach of our mission to disadvantaged children and seniors through five major programs:

Free dance classes and performances for K-12 public and charter school children

Free summer dance training and job skills program for D.C. teens

Free dance classes and performances that teach dance as a positive alternative to drugs, alcohol, and violence

Need-based financial aid for youth students

Free interactive demonstrations, classes, and performances for senior citizens
