STUDIO LOCATIONS

Fitness & Conditioning Classes Available at Joy of Motion

Dancer Conditioning classes are designed to target and tone all major muscle groups of the body. These classes are structured traditional fitness classes that you would see in a gym. You don’t need any prior dance experience and there’s no choreography to memorize. Each class begins with a 20-minute warmup that ranges from low impact to high impact cardio followed by 25 minutes of abs, biceps, triceps, quads and gluteus maximus work. The remaining 15 minutes is dedicated to a full stretch and cool down.

Zumba® is a Latin dance-fitness workout that feels like a party! You’ll burn tons of calories having fun, dancing to salsa, merengue, cha cha, flamenco, belly, hip hop, cumbia, samba and much more. The routines feature interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

Zoca® is a sexy fitness class that combines twerking and hip isolations from the dance halls of the Caribbean. It’s a high energy, burst of cardio, mixed with your own personality. Inspired by the colour­ful car­ni­vals of the Caribbean and the new boom in African pop music, Zoca® brings together these two rich cul­tures to cre­ate a highly effec­tive and exhil­a­rat­ing work­out aimed at not only improv­ing strength, mus­cle tone, and endurance but confi­dence and body image as well. Take the moves from the studio to the club.

Styles of Dancer Conditioning:

Cardio – Focus on elevated heart rate. High impact.
Muscle Building – Focus on strength building. Mid-impact.
Tone – Focus on toning of muscle groups. Low impact.
Pilates/Somatics – Focus on Somatic training. Low impact.
Barre Body® – Focus on promotion of long lean muscles. Low impact.
