9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
$250 - Camp is full!

Adults ages 18 and up
Level:  Beginning II and above levels Jazz, Ballet, or Modern

In the spirit of Gene Kelly and Judy Garland, experience this week long intensive where
students dance, learn, and sweat, while working to put on a show like a true Broadway
gypsy. Participants will learn two performance pieces inspired by the work of notable
choreographers Bob Fosse and the illustrious Jerome Robbins, creative force behind one of
Broadway's most enduring classics, West Side Story. Each day of the intensive will start
with a full jazz technique class followed by a morning session of choreography and
rehearsal, a lunch break, and then an afternoon session of choreography and rehearsal.
Additional break time will include video showings of classic Broadway and Hollywood dance
moments where students explore and learn the history of this inspiring dance form. All
students are required to attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase or create their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to keep costuming expenses
affordable.

This class will culminate in a performance as part of
Jazz Dance:  An American Original
An evening of jazz dance works featuring Washington, DC's own JazzDanz/dc - a jazz dance ensemble.
Saturday, July 29 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m.
