Vikki Weinberger
Vikki
Weinberger has adored dancing since the age of two, began teaching dance at age
thirteen, and now focuses her teaching on tap, jazz, music theater dance,
ballet, and hip hop with a strong emphasis on rhythm tap. Originally from
New Jersey, she was captain of her hometown competition team, received a
scholarship in 1999 to Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and studied with
Mike Minery, Jason Samuels, and Savion Glover. Now in DC, Vikki performs,
choreographs, and teaches for a variety of venues. Since 2000, she has
been tapping professionally with Heidi Shultz's company Tappening, has taught
and performed hip hop with Jam Crew through D.A.R.E outreach, has recently
performed original hip hop choreography by Alana Hill, and while attending
American University (2000-'04), had choreographed many works and was V.P. for
the dance organization, AU In Motion. She is also thrilled to be the new
Director of JOMDC's youth tap company, Soles of Steel. Vikki loves being a
teacher at JOMDC and finds joy inspiring others to also be passionate about
dance!
