
TuLuv Maria Price
A graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Tuluv pursued advanced studies at California Institute of the Arts, and Howard University where she founded her company Luv2dants in 1996. After receiving her degree in 1999 for Modern dance, at the University of the Arts, Tuluv later relocated to NYC. There she choreographed and danced for artist such as Monifah, Maxi Priest, Jimmy Cozier and Foxy Brown and Ashanti.
The Luv2dants company has received great recognitions for participating in Broadway Dance Centers Best of 2001 showcase at the Kaye Playhouse, Vh1 first annual Urban Fashion Awards, George Fasion's Firehouse Theater Grand Opening, Dance Now/NYC festival at the Joyce Soho fall 2002 and Marcus Garvey Park Amp theater summer 2003, Acoustic Chocolate the Musical and has been featured on New York’s local cable show Dance NY. In winter 2003 Luv2dAnts completed their first season at Temple University’s Tomlinson Center in Philadelphia. Luv2dants premiered in LA, at Debbie Reynolds 2004 showcase with a variation entitled Temporary Space, a work that has received great reviews in The New York Times. Tuluv has choreographed for the Malik Yoba National Theater Company, as well as choreographed and played the leading role in the national DVD tour The Maintenance Man, opposite Billy D Williams and Darius McCrary. She has also assisted (The Wiz ) Tony Award winning choreographer, George Faison, (New York Undercover)Michael Delerenzo and Brice Vic with Ashanti artist development. In 2004 Luv2dAnts was featured in an Off Broadway Workshop entitled Rhapsody where Tuluv choreographed both Hip Hop and Modern sections also receiving great reviews by the NY Times. Tuluv was happy to return home and to Howard this winter to assistant direct and choreograph “Wasn’t That A Mighty Day” a new cutting edge Christmas Musical at Crampton Auditorium. She was fortunate to participate in the Artist Development of the musical and was just in time to have a Luv2dants D.C. debut at Black Dance Expressions at the Lincoln Theater. She briefly returned to NY to tape Ashanti’s AOL link now featured on the Web. Now home, Tuluv is proud to be one of the first to teach at the new Joy of Motions Atlas Performing Arts Center.
