Nikki Gambhir

Nikki Ranee Gambhir has been performing, teaching, and choreographing in the DC metro area for the past eleven years. Ms. Gambhir currently performs with Nu Vision Entertainment’s X-Faction Dance Troupe, DCypher Dance, and Aysha Upchurch/Life, Rhythm, Move Project. Performances include opening for Patti LaBelle, B2K, and Darrin Henson, National Cherry Blossom Festival, Independent Music Awards Opening Ceremonies, and DC Convention Center’s Radio One Lifestyles Expo.

In 2006 she was cast in a Bollywood movie that will be released in late 2007. In 2002 she was a member of the first and only Urban Moves Performance Team, an internationally ranked performing dance company, and the following year she performed with Jam Crew and was a member of Expansion Dance Project, which presented both modern and hip hop works. She has performed and taught for America’s DARE Dance program for the past five years. For the past two years she has been a faculty member of JOMDC’s Outreach Program, Motion Express. Extending her talents to musical theatre, she has choreographed several musicals for American Music and Stage Theatre Company. 

Accepted to George Mason University on a piano performance scholarship, Ms. Gambhir graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political and Persuasive Communications. Her piano experience includes several television appearances in both DC and Missouri and she has given concerts at the Smithsonian Institute of the Arts and the Levine School of Music. In 2000, she toured Europe with the Virginia Ambassadors of Music Choir, performing in ten countries. She believes that the arts are an essential part of the community and hopes her teaching and performing will help promote positive and healthy expression through dance.
