Nancy Sedgwick

Nancy Sedgwick is a magna cum laude graduate of James Madison University, where she 
received the Dance Honor Award for Leadership and Creativity. She is the first 
American to receive the Profesora de Baile certification from the International 
Spanish Dance Society. In the U.S. she has performed in Washington, D.C. at the 
Kennedy Center, Dance Place, Marvin Theatre, Baird Auditorium and in theaters in 
Virginia and Maryland as well as in New York, Ohio, Miami and Boston. In the summer 
of 1993 she performed Fanny Elssler's Cachucha in Tokyo. In 1998, she performed 
with the Washington Opera production of Dona Francisquita and regularly performs 
with the In Series.  Most recently, she performed in "Beyond Flamenco" at the Clore 
Studio Theater at the Royal Opera House in London. She began the study of Spanish 
dance with Dame Marina Keet at George Washington University, where she assisted 
Dame Keet in the Theatre and Dance Department. In 1992 she assisted Dame Keet at 
the International Early Dance Institute where the focus was on Escuela Bolera. She 
teaches master classes locally as well as traveling to Tennessee, Alabama, Italy 
and London to teach. Ms. Sedgwick is Executive Director of the Spanish Dance 
Society, USA and is an examiner for the International Spanish Dance Society.
