Pilates Mat
With 30 years of classical dance experience, Mary Hash has developed a profound understanding of body mechanics, which is the core of her Pilates instruction. Ms. Hash received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland, after which she completed extensive postgraduate work in physics, anatomy and physiology, and biochemistry. She worked at the National Institutes of Health on an Alvord grant researching Multiple Sclerosis. She began training as a Pilates instructor in New York under the tutelage of Romana Kryzynowska. In graduating to the instructor level, Ms. Hash has accumulated over 1000 hours of hands-on training and seminar work, including extensive written and practical examinations. As a Pilates instructor, her teaching experience includes the Washington School of Ballet, George Washington University, the Maryland Youth Ballet, the Reston Conservatory of Ballet, and two prominent studios in New York City. Ms. Hash is presently training clients at her fully equipped studio in Kensington, Maryland. She instructs Pilates at every level and is well versed in the use of a broad range of Pilates equipment.
