Laurie Anderson

Laurie Anderson has been performing and teaching many styles of dance, including Ballroom and Social Dance, full-time for 25 years. She captured the titles of New England Rising Star Latin Champion and Eastern United States Rising Star Latin Champion in 1990. She currently coaches competitive ballroom students as well as adjudicates at local and national ballroom competitions. Ms. Anderson holds dual Licentiate Degrees from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and the North American Dance Teachers’ Association. While she is highly experienced in teaching all styles of “partnered” dance, she has a special connection with the Latin dance community and has taught authentic styles of Latin dance such as salsa (on “1” or “2”), merengue and bachata for years. Her diverse dance background also includes 15 years of training in ballet, jazz, modern and tap in Orlando, Florida, and New York City. She performed with the professional ballroom theatre dance company, American Dance Montage for 7 years touring Hong Kong, Macao, El Salvador and the U.S. to critical acclaim.
