Laura Rossini
Laura Rossini began dancing in Atlanta, Ga. at Southern Ballet and continued her training at Terpsichore Dance Theater. In 1986 she received a full scholarship to study at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City and later she joined Ailey II (previously known as the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble). In 1992 she joined Donald Byrd/The Group where she performed globally for seven years. During her tenure with Donald Byrd/The Group she assisted Mr. Byrd in the construction and production of several projects until 2000 when she joined the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and performed intensely with them for four years. She has been the subject of literary works by Robert Donald Spector, and has the distinguished pleasure of appearing on the Alvin Ailey US postal commemorative stamp. She has taught master classes and performed community outreach projects throughout the US and the EU. Her modern classes are based in the Horton technique with a fusion of styles and technical approaches she has acquired in her vast career. Ms Rossini enjoys teaching both modern and ballet technique at Joy of Movement Dance Center.
