
Ilsa Bush
Ilsa Bush started her dance training in the Cecchetti method with Mary Corbett Burns of Arlington, MA, and Margaret Craske, and went on to study with E. Virginia Williams in Boston and Kelly Brown in Phoenix, Arizona. She also studied the Graham technique with Kathleen Hinney and jazz with Gary Naylor. Ms. Bush has performed with the New England Civic Ballet, the Boston Opera Group, the Tufts Arena Theatre and the Harvard Jazz Dance Workshop. Ms. Bush has taught ballet to both adults and children in the Phoenix and Washington, D.C. areas. Currently, she is on the faculty at Joy of Motion Dance Center and George Mason University Dance Department. She has been a guest teacher for the Georgetown University Dance Company, which has performed her choreography, and for the hip hop company, Jam Crew. She follows a careful, academic approach to discipline both the body and the mind and build the foundation for joyful artistic expression. In her non-dancing life, she practiced corporate and banking law, volunteers with various civic groups, and enjoys the company of her husband and teenage son.
