
Debbie Clark
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Debbie Clark has over 30 years of dance experience. She began studying ballet, jazz and tap at a young age in New Jersey, and continued her training in ballet, modern and jazz at Texas Christian University with Fernando Schaffenburg, Stephanie Rand, Lisa Fusillo, Jerry Bywaters-Cochran and Ellen Page. Debbie has studied in New York at the Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey, and Steps; at The Edge and Morro Landis Millennium in LA ,and in D.C. at Joy of Motion Dance Center. She maintains her studies by attending classes, teacher workshops, and seminars.
In 1986, Debbie relocated to Virginia where she performed as a soloist with the Virginia Ballet Company under the direction of Oleg Tupine and Tania Rousseau, and later became a faculty member at the school.
Debbie Clark’s professional performing credits span the globe. She has performed concert work locally at the Kennedy Center, National Theater, Warner Theater, Lisner Auditorium, Dance Place, and most recently the Lincoln Theater. In addition, she has performed Las Vegas-Style musical revues in Bermuda, Japan and Hawaii. A versatile dancer and choreographer, she has performed for Princess Cruises, Cunard Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Harrah’s Casinos, Grand Casinos, Bally’s Casinos and several of the Trump Casinos. She has lived and performed in Japan, Bermuda, Hawaii, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Debbie Clark has taught in many schools locally and nationally. She is currently on the faculty of studios in Virginia, Maryland and D.C. She spends her summers teaching dance and choreographing at the prestigious French Wood Festival in NY. From competitions to the concert stage to musical theatre, Debbie brings her passion and diverse dance background to the studio. Debbie is known for her high energy and hands-on instruction; bringing her extreme love of dance to every class. Outside the dance world, Debbie is a Realtor, licensed in Virginia.
