Classical Repertory Dance Theatre

The Classical Repertory Dance Theatre (CRDT) celebrates the classics and provides a rare opportunity for adult ballet dancers, of all levels, the opportunity to train in a professional environment as well as to provide performance opportunities in classical ballet. CRDT, a self-presenting organization, focuses on technique classes, rehearsals, performances, outreach programs, as well as developing production and arts management skills. CRDT presents national and international guest choreographers and master classes as well as student works. CRDT is committed to developing quality performance standards and practices. DCYPHER Dance

DCypher Dance is JOMDC’s resident adult hip hop company. DCypher Dance focuses on developing new and innovative works of pure hip hop and fusion that are high energy, provocative, and “culture specific” for audiences of all ages and walks of life. DCypher Dance produces works that enrich and empower community through dances of understanding, tolerance, and celebration!
DCypher Dance is integral to the innovative initiatives of JOMDC’s Project Motion Community Outreach. DCypher is the featured performer at our interactive Motion Expressions concerts offered free to DC schoolchildren in Northeast DC. The company also headlines JOMDC’s D.A.R.E.® Dance Assemblies at public schools throughout the region. Tappenstance

Tappenstance is an innovative Washington, DC-based rhythm tap company dedicated to maintaining the legacy of tap dancing while expanding the boundaries of traditional tap. The company works choreographed by director Heidi Schultz showcase diverse musical styles from electronica to rock, reggae to R&B and incorporate elements of other dance styles from hip hop to tango. Tappenstance is designed for intermediate-level adult tappers who want to improve their technique and performance skills. Tappenstance offers tappers a chance to preserve and promote the unique American art form of tap dance while growing as individual dancers.
