Our performance classes are offered each semester in various dance disciplines as an opportunity for the adult
student to experience the process and thrill of performing. Note:
Registration
is closed for all winter performance classes.

Level:
Low Intermediate and Above Ballet
Students will move the past forward while learning excerpts
from Marius Petipa’s renown work La
Bayadere. Restaged by Miya Hisaka, this historical work
is considered by dance historians to be a bridge between the
romantic and classical eras of ballet. Excerpts
from “The Kingdom of the Shades” to the “Finale”
will be covered. This challenging class is appropriate for
both male and female dancers. All students are required to attend
class, be prompt and participate on a regular basis in order
to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines.
All efforts will be made to
keep costuming expenses affordable. This class will
culminate in a showcase performance for friends, family and
the community on Saturday, March 15, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday,
March 16, at 7:00 p.m. at JOMDC's Jack Guidone Theater.,

Latin Hip Hop Performance Class

Level: Beginning 1 and Above Hip Hop
This beginner level class will challenge students to learn
Hip Hop choreography that is fused with Latin dance while
also exploring modern and African movement. The class is
designed with the beginner dancer in mind who wants a chance
to perform for a live audience. All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to
keep costuming expenses affordable. This class will
culminate in a showcase performance for friends, family and
the community on Saturday, March 15, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday,
March 16, at 7:00 p.m. at JOMDC's Jack Guidone Theater.,

Jazz is an exciting and dynamic dance form full of rhythm,
syncopation, passion and life. This performance class will
bring the energy of jazz to the stage. Steeped in the rhythm

, jazz, a true American art form, brings energy and life to
all those who dance it. Students will experience the
development of a full-length jazz performance piece from
start to finish focusing on classic jazz and blues as well
as some elements of jazz improvisation. All students are required to

laundry room? The stage is open to all tap dancers who want
to bang their feet in style - experience the lights, and
costumes! We'll spend the fall semester learning a funky
rhythm tap piece that showcases your hoofing skills and
bright personalities. Bring on the noise, 'cuz we got the

This performance class combines the
traditional movements of Middle Eastern dance
with
the hot sounds of hip hop music to create a unique, fun and innovative
performance piece. Give your dance a new edge. Students fond of the past
and but moved by the sounds of today will love this fusion class
inspired by the music of artists such as Shakira and Kelis. Join the fun
as we push the limits of traditional Raqs Sharqi (belly dance). All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to

sounds of the Red Elvises! A hipster
choreography to "I Wanna See You Bellydance" will
rev up your motor and help you learn different kinds of
shimmy and layering techniques. Channel your 1960's
Go-Go dancer with a Raks Sharqi twist. James Bond would
have loved it! All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the

Morocco

Algeria

Tunisia
] are rich in their diversity and origins.
Representing numerous cultures, Berber, Moors,
Spanish, Arab and European, the modern music reflects the
cultures and also draws on more recent trends, such as Rai -
a music of the streets. This
performance piece will use modern music, and combine some
typical North African style movement with more generic
Egyptian/Lebanese style Belly Dance. All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
according to teacher guidelines. All efforts will be made to

Taksims and Drum Solos are a necessary part of all Middle
Eastern Dance performances, regardless of your style of
dance. In the Taksim, it is your special moment to connect
with the music and interpret it with beautiful arms and
isolations. The Drum Solo is a exciting duet between dancer
and drummer. In Taksims and Drum Solos, the dancer becomes
one with the music. All students are required to
attend class, be prompt and demonstrate a command of the
choreography in order to perform. Students must purchase their own costuming
